Year 6 were recently visited by the staff of St. John’s Ambulance when they took part in the IMPs programmes (Injury Minimisation).

The children were taught how to recognise and respond to a range of emergency and accident situations.  Through discussion, they began to explore how to avoid these situations arising in the first place.

They were then shown what to do should they find themselves with a casualty needing medical attention. The children are all now experts at putting an individual into the recovery position when unconscious and breathing and also able to administer CPR should the need arise.
