For many years now, the children at Diamond Hall have benefitted from the support of the Tom Cowie Foundation. The Foundation pays for our Year 3 children to visit Broomhouse Farm in Durham. The visits take place across the year and the children look at how the farm changes in the different seasons.
Year 4 visit Beamish museum three times a year. Our most recent visits involved solving a murder, working in a factory and earning money and investigating the death of a miner. The children completed some fabulous work on their return to school.
Year 5 will be working with FabLab in the Spring term. The children get the opportunity to design and make a product using a variety of STEM skills and equipment. This broadens their awareness of the range of job opportunities in the wider world.
