Yesterday, Mr Guthrie's class took another exciting trip to Beamish, thanks to the Sir Tom Cowie Charitable Trust.
After arrival, they had a quick costume change before posing for photographs around the 1900s town (see photos below).
In the afternoon, they investigated the circumstances which led to James White's death in the coal mine by interviewing characters around the pit village. They will use their investigative work to write a balanced argument about James White's death in class.
The children will also use their experiences to sketch landscapes and portraits using the photographs they took as inspiration.
