Our brilliant Year 5 and 6 football team walked away with two wins and a loss in a 5-a-side McAuliffe tournament last week at Goals football centre in Sunderland.
Read the match reports below, written by roving reporters Lewis, Cameron and Deacan:
Diamond Hall 2 - 3 Farringdon - McAuliffe Trophy
In our first game we started pretty slowly, which led to us conceding three quick goals. We replied with a penalty scored by Brandon to make the score 3-1 before Lewis scored a second to bring the game back to 3-2. Farringdon's keeper kept them in the game as we piled on the pressure. Unfortunately, a late penalty was missed and the game ended 3-2.
Diamond Hall 6 - 0 Hill View A - Friendly
After a slow start in the first game, we picked it up in game two. Lewis found his shooting boots and scored 5 great goals, which were added to by a good strike from Cameron.
Diamond Hall 3 - 2 Hill View B - Friendly
Our third game was a good battle and both teams played well. We took the lead with a good goal but Hill View scored the next two to make it 1-2. A couple of late goals from Lewis saw us win the game 3-2 after a hard fought game.
Well done to Jeremiah, Deacan, Cameron, Mackenzie, Harley, Lewis and Brandon, who all represented our school brilliantly on the night.
