Pole vault athlete, Sally Scott, visited our academy before half term to talk about her bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games and to put pupils through their paces in a fitness session.

After an energetic fitness circuit, complete with press ups and star jumps, Sally spoke to the whole school about her sporting journey. She spoke about and how it had both ups and downs and why resilience is so important. The children then got to ask questions and try on Sally's bronze medal from the Commonwealth Games.

Amy Etherington, PE lead said: "Sally was a fantastic inspirational sportsperson to have in school, I have never seen our school hall so full of energy! The purpose of the session was to inspire children to push themselves, aim high to reach their goals and to promote a more active lifestyle, and she has definitely succeeded in doing that."
