Class 5AH tucked into a delicious Tudor banquet this week to learn more about the Tudor period.

Year 5 explored society by sampling dishes from each of the social classes. They ate like kings with meat and gingerbread in the upper class before tasting cheese and porridge for the middle class dish. The last course saw pupils using hollowed out bread instead of bowls as they sampled the working class menu.

Faye said: “It was interesting to learn that the Royal Family only ate the upper crust of the bread because this was what Henry VIII preferred."

Adam added: “I felt sorry for the poor people because they only ate whatever was left as they did not have any money."
