Earlier this week, our children celebrated the life and work of the much-loved children's author, Roald Dahl.

The children looked bright and cheerful, wearing yellow - the favourite colour of Dahl, for the day. Pupils enjoyed taking part in a range of activities which included 'whizzpopping' quizzes, creating 'fizzbanging' fact files and of course, listening to and reading some of the wonderful stories that he wrote in his little garden shed.

Year 5 had a great time designing their own chocolate bar and creating an advert for it using their computing skills. Meanwhile, Year 4 talked a lot about Roald Dahl and thought the BFG's big ears were very funny! Mr Jach put on his best westcountry accent to read the part of the BFG to his class!

Phoebe said: "My favourite Roald Dahl story is Matilda so I loved creating my own front cover for the story." Kaydin added: "I enjoyed listening to Matilda because I thought it was really funny when Mrs Trunchbull got scared."
