Our Year 3 pupils shone even brighter this week when they experimented with light!
After studying light in their science lessons, the children created a variety of shadows with light and objects from around their homes.
So, what did our little scientists discover? They learned how the angle of the light source makes a huge difference to the type of shadow created and how shadows differ depending on the opacity of an object.
Sienna produced a dark, well-defined bunny shadow with her opaque hand while Eleanor used a translucent plastic lid to create a faint shadow, as some light still passed through.
Sienna said “I enjoyed creating different types of shadow. My favourite was when I made a long shadow with my arm.”
Take a look at our scientists in action!
