Year 5 ventured out to Sunderland Marina this week to explore the positive impact of oysters on the environment.

Oysters are almost extinct in the UK wild and therefore projects like the 'Oyster Project' are hugely important to our coastline as they breed and protect oysters in our local waters. The group learnt a lot about oysters, for example did you know that one oyster filters around 200 litres of water every day?

Such a fun and interesting day out!
