Our Year 5 pupils visited Newcastle Castle last week as part of their Terrible Tudors topic!
The class explored Tudor culture and learned all about the gruesome methods that were used to punish those who broke the law. Our pupils especially enjoyed trying out the stocks and 'throwing rotting vegetables' at their friends! The group also had a brilliant time visiting the dungeon and Bessie Surtees house, where they looked at artefacts from the period and discussed how much society has changed since then.
What a fantastic trip for our young historians!
