On Thursday, our Rights Respecting Steering Group were invited by Ms Donohue, Principal of Academy 360, to share their rights respecting successes with the senior management team at their school.
The group visited Academy 360 and had a fantastic morning spreading the word of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and explaining to their staff how we learn about rights, for rights and through rights.
The children were given a guided tour of the school by Year 7 and 8 ambassadors, before enjoying a special treat - brunch in the boardroom! With full stomachs and beaming smiles, our excellent steering group took part in a discussion with Ms Donohue and Mr Gordon, who were really impressed with how knowledgeable and articulate they were.
The enthusiastic group have been invited back to share our journey with the children of Academy 360 in an assembly.
James said: “My favourite article is Article 1 because if we didn’t have that right we wouldn’t be here right now saying this.”
Poppy said: “I found the school to be really welcoming.”
