Virtual school

From Monday 23 March, until further notice, Diamond Hall Junior Academy is operating virtually, to minimise disruption to pupils' education as much as possible during this difficult and unprecedented time. We are therefore providing links to useful learning resources which pupils can use at home.

Students - what you should do:

  • Log on to Dojo and Purple Mash at least twice a day, at 08:50am and 1:00pm, to check for messages from teachers and make sure you understand what work you need to complete. You can do this by clicking https://www.purplemash.com/login/ and search Diamond Hall Junior Academy and https://student.classdojo.com/
  • Follow the timetable above, sticking as far as possible to the times specified.
  • Complete all work to the best of your ability and as neatly as possible. Use the exercise book provided where appropriate.
  • Communicate with teachers by Dojo during school hours if you are not sure what to do. Wherever possible, teachers will respond promptly to queries.

Parents / carers – what you can do:

  • Provide a quiet space for your child to work in.
  • Make sure your child follows the timetable outlined above.
  • Encourage your child to complete all work to the best of their ability and as neatly as possible.
  • Ask your child about the work they are doing and help them where you can; a great way of doing this is by testing them on what they have learned.
  • Keep your child’s login details safe and remind them of them where necessary.
  • If you have any general queries, please contact the class teacher using the Dojo’s or the school email on [email protected] and someone will aim to respond to you as quickly as possible.

What to do if your child is ill:

  • If your child tests positive for Coronavirus, please contact the school email on [email protected]
  • Please follow NHS guidance in relation to Coronavirus: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Until school reopens, we are going to investigate an 'Article of the Week'. Each week, we will learn an article and complete a reflection and an extension exercise. Activities are simple and fun to carry out with the minimum of equipment - most only need a pencil and paper. Please share examples of your work with your teachers.
